Steven Romo is a New York-based correspondent for NBC News. He started his journalism career reporting for his college newspaper. He went on to work in several local TV stations, before becoming an anchor at KTRK, the ABC station in Houston. In 2021, Romo moved to New York City and began freelancing for NBC News, MSNBC, and NBC News NOW. He was hired as a full-time correspondent in 2022, reporting for all platforms, including NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt and TODAY. He has also served as anchor for Early Today, MSNBC Reports, Morning News NOW, Stay Tuned NOW, and more. Romo has focused his enterprise coverage on highlighting LGBTQ+ issues, income inequality and immigrant communities. In 2024, he was honored to win the Journalist of the Year award from NLGJA.
